Accepted Specimens:Serum
Specimen Stability:Serum should remain at 22°C for no longer that 8 hours.
Store at 2-8°C for up to 7 days, or up to 4 weeks at -20°C. Samples should not be used if they have more than 5 freeze-thaw cycles.
Storage/Transport Conditions:Specimens should be stored and transported at 2-8°C. Sufficient frozen cold packs in an insulated cooler can be used to maintain this temperature.

Comments:Aids in the diagnosis of acute or past hepatitis A virus infection or identification of HAV-susceptible individuals for vaccination.
