- Animal Care’s new pet foster program has been a rewarding way for our community to directly help out the animals that come into our shelter. The intern will gain experience researching successful foster models, helping create program materials, assisting with volunteer recruitment, and supporting outreach to community partners. The intern will gain hands‑on experience in program planning, communication, and community engagement while contributing to a meaningful animal‑welfare initiative.

They will also assist in developing marketing and communication materials that highlight ongoing Healthy Communities Initiative projects.

Patient Navigation
- Projects:
- The ECM and CM teams work with clients and patients who need additional navigation through their physical, mental, and social care to ensure better health outcomes. This includes reducing hospital and emergency department admissions, as well as improving chronic conditions and diseases such as diabetes, obesity, severe mental illness, substance use, and even homelessness.
The intern will work with the teams to conduct outreach to waitlisted clients, complete basic screening forms, identify and research resources to support the target population for both teams, and set up appointments for clients to follow up with the Clinic Ops and the Special Projects teams.
Additionally, the intern will assist with the review and updates of policies and standard practices. They will support both teams in reviewing policies and procedures that are due for revision, as well as other supplemental documents such as metrics review for program reporting. Work completed may include:- Review and expansion of ECM and CM teams resources
