Preparedness & Response
Welcome
San Bernardino County Department of Public Health Preparedness and Response Program (PRP) is committed to ensuring readiness through planning, mitigating, and responding to public health emergencies or emergencies that have public health impacts. These emergencies include disease outbreaks, pandemics, natural disasters, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear events including terrorist acts involving these agents. PRP works alongside emergency response partners to meet public health needs of San Bernardino County residents during a disaster.
Jurisdictional Risk Assessment (JRA)
SBCDPH’s jurisdictional risk assessment (JRA) was developed for public health emergency preparedness, response, and recovery planning and serves as a structured evaluation of potential threats, vulnerabilities, and response capacities within San Bernardino County. The risk assessment process is a foundational component of emergency preparedness that ensures public health risks and threats specific to a jurisdiction (i.e. infectious disease outbreaks, environmental hazards, and bioterrorism) are identified and integrated into emergency planning efforts.
Multi-Year Integrated Preparedness Plan (MYIPP) June 2025
The purpose of the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health’s (SBCDPH) Multi-Year Integrated Preparedness Plan (MYIPP) is to outline a strategic approach for strengthening public health and emergency management capabilities across the county. This plan documents the process for enhancing the core capabilities necessary to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from threats and hazards impacting the community.
